罄竹难书
Sway
“Sway: too numerous to record”: It refers to a situation where someone has committed so many offenses, misdeeds, or wrongdoings that it is impossible to record or enumerate them all. The expression conveys the idea that the extent of a person's wrong actions is so vast that even writing them down on bamboo slips (an ancient writing material) would be insufficient.
Background & Inspiration
Bamboo has been a universal symbol of resilience, flexibility, and purity. Across cultures, artists and thinkers have celebrated its duality—strong yet supple, rooted yet reaching. It is said that ‘Bamboo reflects not just the aesthetic of nature, but the inner strength of humanity’ (Zhijie Qiu, 2008).
